For some reason I find myself writing my posts at odd hours, yes it's Friday night and I'm blogging!!! Oh what a crazy life I live :) Tonight I want to show you my November Birchbox, it's only the 9th and I received it already which was a pleasant surprise!
If you follow my blog you may have noticed I didn't review my October box... because I didn't get one! My shipping notification stated it was delivered but I never got it. When I called Birchbox they said they didn't have any to send me, they said I wouldn't be charged for November and only after I asked several times, they gave me 50 points for the reviews I was unable to do since I had no products that month.
I try to give people and companies the benefit of the doubt, I am glad my November box is here already. Let me show you what I received:
The theme for this month is "Giving"
Here is the message from Birchbox for this month:
And here is the list of products in my box, along with their retail price:To go with this month's theme, they included a cute box/envelope so that one can give to someone else, I thought that was cute.
They also included a $15 off coupon for a shoe site I've never heard of before. It's called CHROMATICgallerie, I was going to look, since I looooove shoes, but the card says "...at just $88 a pair..." so I'm not even looking, that's definitely more than what I pay for shoes, even with the $15 off.
Back to the products in the box:
Yes, they sent food again, which I don't necessarily hate but I'm not thrilled to see, I would rather get a twistband than a snack. It's 140 calories, if you are into that sort of thing...
The first product I grabbed was Lulu Organics Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder; it's a dry shampoo and I am actually excited to try it. I straighten my hair every so often and use dry shampoo so I can keep it straight for a few days. I use a couple different brands that have dry shampoo sprays (aerosol), I've never tried a powder dry shampoo. Should be interesting.
The next product that caught my eye was this little jar, MOX Botanicals Pomegranate & Fig Lip Butter. I like the packaging and it is a decent size for a lip butter. This is what it looks like when you open it, smells fruity :) I put some on my lips right away, it feels nice and not too greasy, not sure how long it stays on as I just put it on a few minutes ago. I think I will use this now that it's getting cold.
I didn't pay much attention to this at first, I have tons of mascara right now. This is called Fibre Lashxtend by MOdelCo, it is a full sized product, and according to the card, it retails for $24. The box was $10 so this alone paid for it, is it any good? No clue as of yet but will be trying it out soon :)
Now this is cool! It has a mirror on the back! I think this feature alone has earned this mascara a spot in my purse tomorrow! The last item in the box is Archipelago Pomegranate Body Soap. It smells really nice and it looks like a travel size, like the soaps you get at nice hotels.
Well, it looks like it is the type of soap you actually get at nice hotels!!! See that? "Remember your stay, take me home"...
Well dears, that's my Birchbox for November, am I happy? do I love it? do I hate it? Let's just say, I'm glad it came early in the month, I'm glad I actually got it, and I feel like I got my $10 worth this month.
For now I will keep this subscription, I am hoping December will be awesome... and I am working on getting some more points from reviewing the products. This is just my honest opinion, I think they have huge potential and that is the reason why I am staying, if you are interested on trying them out, feel free to use my link.
