Mally Bulletproof Essentials Review

Well hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts about the "Mally Bulletproof Essentials" kit. I also did a video review, you can watch it here.

I bought it from Ulta.com a few days ago for $49. It is currently only available online but it looks like it will be in select Ulta stores as of August 1st. (I heard/read this somewhere but I can't remember where right now)
This is my first time buying and trying "mally" products, I have seen tons of reviews and people usually rave about them so I figured this was a good kit to try as it comes with 5 products.
Back of the box and the products!
I followed the instructions in the little booklet but skipped the first step (put on primer, concealer and foundation), because I wanted to see what the products would actually do for me. I feel like if I have primer, concealer and foundation, any product will look great on top of that base. FYI I didn't do my eyebrows either (on purpose) OMG!!!! hahaha

Overall I like this kit and I am very happy I bought it, I feel it is a great value for the money! I loved 4 out of the 5 products, doesn't mean I hate one of them, I just don't love it.

The products I am most impressed with: the Evercolor Shadow Stick (Saddle Shimmer) and the Volumizing Mascara! Continue below for pics of my full face with this kit and creepy close up eye pictures! :)
OMG that mascara!!!! Left side two coats of mascara on top and one on bottom. Right side no mascara. I did not curl my lashes (because I stink at it and because I wanted to see this mascara in action with no help)

Love it!
Ok, this one is creepy isn't?

The High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Starburst is more of a lipgloss in my opinion, sheer but pretty, it has tiny little sparkles, can you see them? The color might show up differently on someone with a different skin tone, but seems to me it would suit pretty much anyone. I lick my lips often, I know, bad habit, and this gloss does not feel sticky at all! Winning!

The only product from this kit I didn't love is the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Black Velvet, it was easy to apply and it stays in place, it's just not dark enough for me. I guess that's why it's called velvet? I'm used to black eyeliner like Urban Decay Zero, so to me this one was more on the grey-ish side. Good eyeliner, just not loving the shade, but I will use it since it claims to be waterproof :)
I am wearing the eyeliner on my inner rim as well as on top of my upper lashes (over the shadow stick) and below my lower lashes (also over the shadow stick)

The Evercolor Poreless Face Defender is very unique, I don't have anything like it and I was super excited to try it. It has a balm like texture without being greasy, I used the sponge applicator provided to apply it, it worked ok for application purposes but I think I want to try applying with a brush? or a bigger sponge? The Face Defender definitely made my pores look less noticeable and gave me a matte look without looking dry. All I have on my skin is moisturizer and then the Face Defender.
Who has braces now? I do! I do!

Now let's talk value! From what I have found online almost all the products are full sized!

Evercolor Poreless Face Defender in the kit is 0.41oz, the full sized one is 0.46 oz, it has a bigger/nicer sponge and it retails for $40
High Shine Liquid Lipstick (Starburst) full size, retails for $20
Volumizing Mascara full size, retails for $20
Evercolor Shadow Stick (Saddle Shimmer) full size, retails for $25
Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner (Black Velvet) full size, retails for $15 (Note: I can't find that color in the Ulta website, but there are plenty of other shades)

So there you have it, hope this review was useful, let me know if you have tried Mally products and if there are any others I should try!

Thank you for stopping by,
Fiorella :)

blush.com June 2013 Mystery Beauty Box

I have been subscribed to blush.com for 4 months now, and at $24.95 I still love it, I feel like I definitely get an awesome value every month! My June mystery box arrived today! I watched the June preview so I knew that the featured product alone as already worth more than the entire bag! Yay!

They always send 1 or 2 free samples (foil packets usually) with your order, this month I got a Dermalogica "multivitamin power firm" sample. Now, for your viewing pleasure, the contents of the box:

The featured product this month is:
  • GLYTONE Spray Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (6fl oz.) Full size! Retails for $39 (remember this box costs $24.95 if you subscribe or $34.95 for a one time box! Ahhhh, nice!)
From the site:
What it is:
A lightweight body sunscreen mist to prevent sun damage.

What it's used for:
Glytone Spray Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (formerly Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Plus Spray Mist) coats your skin in a soft, water-resistant barrier of chemical and mineral UV filters to prevent the visible signs of aging due to sun exposure. Innovative antioxidant technology keeps your skin hydrated and supple with a non-greasy finish that won’t clog your pores.

And everything else I got:
  • Stila Lip Glaze - Kaleidoscope (0.08fl oz.) Full size! Retails for $22
  • DHC Clarifying Pore Cover Base (0.42oz.) Full size! Retails for $19!
From their site:
What it is:
A skin-protecting makeup primer.

What it's used for:
DHC Clarifying Pore Cover Base is a powder-based primer that targets trouble areas, such as the oily T-zone. Designed to keep the complexion looking naturally matte for hours, it helps to keep makeup fresh by preventing smears and smudges.
  • Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20 Tinted Body Treatment Enhancer - Glow, this is a deluxe sample so I have no idea what its value is but OMG I'm so excited to try this one out! I recently got a sample of the Miracle Skin Face SPF 20 from the Sephora Sun Safety Kit and I've been loving it!
  • Hydroxatone Revitalizing Microdermabrasion, the one I got is 0.5 oz and the full size is 1.7 oz, full size retails for $29. This is one of the products I would never buy on my own but I am certainly excited to try it!
According to the site:
What it is:
A micro-exfoliating formula to help restore and regenerate skin.

What it's used for:
Hydroxatone Revitalizing Microdermabrasion is an effective exfoliating treatment to help gently resurface your skin by polishing away dull, dead skin cells. Magnesium oxide buffs impurities and dead skin, bringing newer, youthful skin to the surface. Smoothing sesame oil reduces the appearance of fine lines as protective antioxidants combat premature aging. Skin-brightening extracts promote skin clarity and radiance.
  • Decleor Aroma Cleanse Youth Cleanser Duo, two sample sized bottles, Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk & Aroma Cleanse Essential Tonifying Lotion. (0.33 oz each)
  • Supergoop CC Cream Daily Correct SPF 35 Self Adjusting Light to Medium (3ml) - Always excited to try anything labeled as BB or CC cream :)
I believe all the boxes this month have the featured product and the rest of the products can vary. As you can see I got 3 full sized products that total $80 ($39+$22+$19) and that's without going crazy calculating how much each sample product is worth! So there you have it! While the blush.com box is not all makeup I love the fact that they include skincare! And the value does not disappoint! I am keeping this subscription for sure!

What do you think? Do you subscribe to blush.com?

Total Beauty Revlon Edition and Mystery Collection!

Hello beautiful people! My mailbox was raining packages today! I wanted to take a moment to brag show you what I got from Total Beauty! Everything was purchased with my own money!

I found this site recently and love it so far! Here is their description:

"Love getting packages? Thought so. The Total Beauty Collection is the ultimate beauty goodie bag, chock full of trial size cosmetics samples. And unlike most samples box programs, there's no subscription required, so you don't get stuck paying a monthly fee. Instead, you get makeup samples and other beauty samples from our favorite brands, making it easy to test out beauty products and find your favorites before you spend money on the full-sized versions. The Total Beauty Collection is essentially a pretty present delivered to your door, no subscription strings attached." (http://www.totalbeauty.com/shops/collections)

The first thing I bought a few weeks ago was the "Total Beauty Collection Revlon Edition"; I had been dying to try the Revlon Lip Butters but I'm cheap so I didn't wanna pay around $8 for something I wasn't even sure I was going to like. This collection is still available here for $15 with free shipping, killer deal!

I loved that I knew what I was getting, sometimes no surprises are nice! This is the actual box, it came with:
  • Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sorbet - full size
  • Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade - full size
  • Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel in Trade Winds - full size
  • Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow in Sea Mist - full size
  • Revlon Spring Color Story Booklet

A few days ago I got an email about something magic!!! The Total Beauty Mystery Collection! (I'm sorry it is now sold out!). They offered for $20 and it was said to contain:

  • $100 VALUE + FREE Shipping
  • 13+ products included

"Spring cleaning usually means dust pans and trash bags, but at Total Beauty it means a finding a whole new batch of beauty bargains.

We've gathered the extra products from our previous collections and mixed them together to create a limited number of Mystery Collections. Each collection is like a box of chocolates -- you don't know what you're going to get (until it arrives on your doorstep).

The part that isn't a mystery? The bargain. At only $20, each collection contains 13+ different products valued at over $100. So sure, there's no way of telling if you're going to get nougat or caramel-filled ... but at the end of day, you can't go wrong with a box full of chocolates. Especially one that ships for free." (http://www.totalbeauty.com/shops/collections/mystery)

Well of course I had to order one and it came today! Here is what I got! I am pretty happy with it, I haven't calculated the actual value but I am pretty confident is definitely more than I paid for!

While this mystery collection is currently sold out I highly recommend checking out the site and signing up for updates! (They have sent me discount codes a couple of times, 10% and 20% which can be used towards any collection boxes just for joining their mailing list)

I love the free shipping and no membership idea, if you see a collection you like you buy it and that's it! Pretty sweet deal!
What do you think? Have you shopped Total Beauty before?

Thank you for stopping by,

Fiorella :)

blush.com April and May 2013 Mystery Beauty Boxes

I know it's almost June, but oh well, maybe you still want to see what I got in my last two blush.com mystery beauty box(es)! Sorry about the bad picture, my April box wasn't all that exciting, most products have been put away now in the "I will try this some day or give it away" drawers. The only thing I have used from this box so far is the tendu treatment mask, it's a hair mask and it smells good, but don't they all?

So yeah. that was the April box, I subscribe to blush.com so it's $24.95 a month, March was awesome, April was kinda blah but May picked back up! Here is what I got in my May box:
This conditioner smells pretty good and it's full size, I'm using it in my spare bathroom just to have something there, but I would have never picked this up for myself because it says "Advanced Volume" and I have crazy volume (also known as fluff) already!
Next up, a BB cream, haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'll give it a go, always excited to try one out, I currently use Smashbox BB cream but I'm not 100% convinced...
This little baby is pretty cool, I've seen different brands come out with this gel eyeliner format, where the brush is part of the packaging! Genius! I don't know about you, but I can never find the right brush for gel eyeliner (and I probably have 10) so this will make life easier, especially for traveling!
Oh the polishes everyone has been talking about! Apparently this set retails for $29, the colors are gorgeous, formula not so much unfortunately. In my opinion: Sea Glass (mint) and B-Days In Cabo (pink) have a better formula than Jelly Shot (coral) and Dream Catcher (light lavender). The first two you can work with, requiring 3 coats for opacity, but the last two, even after 4 coats I can see spots :(
Ignore the middle finger (Orly Peaceful Opposition)
I must say I love the colors, just wish the formula was better as far as coverage, especially for Jelly Shot!
Last thing in my box, and one of my favorites! Baublebar bracelet! I guess they only sent these out to the first 2000 orders, glad I got one! It also comes with a 20% off coupon for the site
It's a bit childish but I think it's super cute, I love the fact that it is adjustable, I have tiny wrists so finding bracelets that don't fall off is always a difficult task!

Do you susbcribe to blush.com? what do you think of these boxes? While April was not all that great, I am keeping this subscription, I still feel that the value is there! Let's see what they bring in June!

Thank you for stopping by,
Fiorella :)

Another haul post

Hello everyone, today I want to share a haul from my latest buys at Sephora, CVS, Sally Beauty, Ulta, Beauty Brands & Kohl's. If you know me, you know I love deals, so most of these products were on sale and some even free!

I got a Sephora gift card for my Bday just in time to catch the Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit! So I had to order it! It came in a clear/gold/hot pink zippered pouch at $30 for a ton of products, and $20 goes to the Skin Cancer Foundation, no brainer! (Sorry, I think the kit is currently sold out)
Also, I had been eyeing the "Bottled Dreams" perfume sampler for a while and since it was my Bday month... why not? It is my first time buying a Sephora perfume sampler but it seems like a really good deal, this one was $50, you get 6 deluxe sized perfume samples in actual little bottles instead of vials, and a voucher to get a full sized bottle of the one you like the most; the sampler also has a pretty full sized hot pink nail polish (Sephora by OPI).

The 6 bottles you get are generous enough to actually try each scent several times, the little bottles are also super cute and would look adorable anywhere you want to display them! The only thing that could have made them better is if they were spray bottles, but I will manage.

The voucher is good for a full sized bottle, which is the 1 oz size for 5 of the scents and 1.7 oz for Couture La La, the full sizes retail anywhere from $52 to $70. I think my favorite is Couture La La, which retails for $70 for a 1.7oz bottle! Score!!! (Sorry, I think the sampler is currently sold out)
Also, here are the samples I got with my order, even got a little something for the fiancé!
A few days ago, alerted by one of my favorite sites "Nouveau Cheap" I was alerted of the CVS beauty clearance! check out her post here, so of course I had to go see if I could find any of the goods people across the country were finding! I had $5 in ECB and a coupon for $2 off a $10 cosmetics purchase, so using both and finding all these babies on clearance, I managed to get them all for an extreme price of $3.66, yes, all 6 products! :P
Also, since May is my Bday month, I had the Sally's $10 off a $20 purchase coupon, so there I went and picked out these goodies!
After the coupon I paid $13.54 for everything, including taxes! I wanted a new top coat, I was using "G & G HK Girl - Fast Drying + Super Shiny Top Coat", which worked great until I got around half the bottle, then it would get thick way to often and having to apply thinner every time you want to use it is just annoying! A good friend recommended Poshe, so I picked it up, used it yesterday and love it so far! I have the red Sally's card, so my price was $4.99. I also got Orly "Peaceful Opposition" on sale for $3.99 and a hair bun thingy ($2.79) because I gotta know what the buzz is about!

Have I told you I love emilynoel83? Well, a while back I saw one of her videos where she compares the Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer to Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and have been wanting to try it ever since! I love Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, but I don't love paying $36 for 30ml of product. The Palladio primer gives you 20ml for $10.69-$11.99 (depending on which Sally's card you have) so it's definitely a better deal!

Then I went to Ulta... I picked up only a couple of things, have you guys tried Batiste Dry Shampoo? I have heard good things about it and Ulta had it for $7.99 with a free mini travel size can! My favorite dry shampoo is Bed Head Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo by Tigi, but I'm always looking to try something new!

Ulta was having one of their buy 2 get 2 free deals, and I was looking for a tanning mitt, now, let me explain, I am latin/hispanic/whateveryouwannacallit but my legs need serious help, they have no color at all, must be this Midwest thing and snowstorms in April and such, anywho, I was going to buy the St Tropez Tanning Mitt at Sephora for $6.50 but read the reviews and this one seems to work just as good. They sell for $4.99 a piece and with the promo I got 4 for $10!
I also got a couple of NYX pencil liners (again based on reviews I have seen/read), check out the colors below: Pinky and Teal. I've heard they compare to Urban Decay's 24/7 pencils... we will see...
Oh then I went to Beauty Brands, honestly I don't shop there a lot, I always feel they are overpriced and don't have a big selection as Ulta or Sephora; but I do get coupons once in a while and then I go. This time the coupon was for a free full size Bed Head Straighten Out, which retails for $17.98.

Me and my crazy curly hair are always looking for help when it comes to taming my curls and making my life easier when I flat iron my locks! It was free with any purchase so I bought a $0.99 buffing block, hey I needed one and it said "any purchase" :P
My last stop was Kohl's, one of my favorite stores! I had $10 Kohl's cash, a $10 promotional gift and a 15%off coupon. I got all the goodies below for $5.17!!! Woo hoo score! (Don't judge, I only got the Paris Hilton set because it was on clearance for $9 and who doesn't love perfume roll ons?)
My favorite item, this Rock & Republic Two Tone Bead & Skull Stretch Bracelet, yes, it's sparkly like that in real life! On clearance for $3.40!!! Love!
That's all I have for you in this post! Sorry it was so long! Do you like anything I got? What's your favorite place to score deals?

Thank you for stopping by,
Fiorella :)
