Giveaway: Just because I'm cool

Holaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! It's meeeeee!!! I'm back with a fun Giveaway! I will be adding prizes (I ordered some stuff online and it's on its way) and might add an extra winner depending on the number of entries!

Why am I doing a Giveaway? Because I'm cool like that! hahaha and also because I have been buying way too much stuff and I wanna share! All of the prizes will be beauty related products, makeup, nail polish, hair, skin, etc. The prizes will be mixed, drugstore and high end (because you can find great products in both categories, and if you are a snob I don't wanna play with you!).

All the products are brand new, either dupes of stuff I already have or purchased specifically for this Giveaway! I will have at least 3 winners, due to mailing restrictions this one will be open to US and Canada only (if you are in another country you can still enter, as long as you have a friend in the US or Canada who can receive the prize for you!)

Take a look at some of the prizes! I tried to gather a good mix of products for you! Once the Giveaway is closed I will basically put together "surprise beauty bags" for the winners and send them out!

Update *** 03/04/2013 *** I have added some prizes and decided I want to have 5 winners instead of 3! Do I spot the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection and the Almost Famous collection???? Ohhhhh!!!!!

What are you waiting for? Enter!

The Girl With The Golden Nails!

Hope you are all doing great! Tonight I want to show you OPI's "The Man With The Golden Gun" Oh am I excited about this one!!! Here is the final product, let me tell you how I got there!
Bottle shots:
Last night I cut my nails all the way down just because I was ready for a fresh start :) I used 2 Color Club polishes I got in my Birchbox in the last few months, the gold is called "Disco Nap" and the blue is called "Insta-This". I used butte LONDON Matte Finish Top Coat over the blue and I like the way it turned out :)
But today, I finally got my hands on this bottle of awesomeness!!!! OPI's "The Man With The Golden Gun" This is what I had seen online:
This is what the box looks like in real life :)
It even comes sealed with a "proof of authenticity" sticker:
The inside of the box:
This is one coat of TMWTGG on a nail wheel:
I put 2 coats of TMWTGG over my existing manicure, it doesn't really do much over the gold but I love it over the blue!!!
This Top Coat is retailing for about $30, am I happy I bought it? Absolutely! Sometimes you have to splurge! If nothing else you can always put it on your wishlist, Christmas is right around the corner :)
Let me know what you think!

HK Girl, OPI The Living Daylights and more...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I wanted to share my last manicure and a top coat I am absolutely in love with! Since I started blogging I feel like I've entered a very special world, and I have gotten to experience so many great products I didn't know existed!

Lots of ladies I chat with online, rave about HK Girl Fast Drying & Super Shiny Clear Top Coat, I had to try it and oh boy! I'm so glad I did, this top coat is super fast drying, shiny and amazing!!! I used 2 coats on this mani, it looks great and it feels super smooth, I really put it to the test with this crazy glitter!!! The only con I could find is that the smell is a bit strong but it goes away as soon as the top coat is dry, which happens crazy fast!

This is what the regular sized bottle looks like:
You can purchase it here for less than $7!!! I will definitely keep using HK Girl :) I believe there is a bigger bottle available as well.

Here are the polishes I used for this mani:
China Glaze: Kalahari Kiss, Exotic Encounters and Desert Sun (from the Safari Collection)
OPI: The Living Daylights (from the Skyfall/James Bond Collection)
HK Girl Fast Drying & Super Shiny Clear Top Coat

I picked the base colors inspired on the glitter colors in "The Living Daylights". It's a beautiful clear glitter with gtold, silver, turquoise and orange glitter!!! Ahhhh!!! I love it!!! Easy to apply and no digging required!!!
Two coats of each color before the glitter!
 Another view:
Sunlight, 2 coats of The Living Daylights and 2 coats of HK Girl
I'm in love with this glitter!!!!
 Kalahari Kiss close up:
 Exotic Encounters close up:
 Desert Sun close up:
I love all the combos but Kalahari Kiss is my favorite out of the three!
What do you think? Have you tried HK Girl, do you like it? What do you think about The Living Daylights? What other base colors would you pair it up with?

OPI + Revlon Whimsical!

I have Midterms this weekend but I had to share this with you in a short post :)

Finally! I got my hands on a bottle of Revlon Whimsical! It was almost brand new and I got it from Copious using a credit so I paid less than $2! Total score as I couldn't find it in store and I've been looking for it for a few months now!

I knew I needed a base and decided to go with the colors I saw in the sparkles (or as close as I could). I used 3 OPI colors as my base: "Mermaid's Tears" (Pirates Of The Caribbean Collection), "French Quarter For Your Thoughts" (Touring America Collection) and "If You Moust You Moust" (Vintage Minnie Collection).

Two coats of each base color!

I did 2 coats of Whimsical and 1 coat of OPI's Top Coat. It might have bubbled a bit :(

Overall I am pretty happy with Whimsical and the combination altogether! I think it has the right amount of glitter and color without being extremely summery... it's starting to get cold here in the Midwest but I'm not quite ready for fall yet.

I did this right before I went to bed and I think I could have waited longer before putting the top coat on and avoid the bubbling, but oh well, lesson learned! My favorite base is the gray color, what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by!

Oh bar glitter!

I can’t believe it’s already September! I have to catch you guys up on my posts! August was a busy busy month for me, school, work and a trip to Peru! I wanted to share a mani I did a few weeks back, if you follow me on FB you probably saw pictures but here it goes, enjoy!

I had a wedding to go to in August and was going on vacation right after that. I wanted something nice and versatile and since I was going to cold weather I wanted to stay away from bright colors. I was also dying to try my first 2 bar glitter polishes.

For this mani I used:
  • ·         CND – Stickey Base Coat
  • ·         Sinful Colors – Secret Admirer #933
  • ·         OPI – Save Me
  • ·         Orly – Be Brave
  • ·         OPI – Top Coat

Here is what I wore to the wedding... yes my shoes sparkle :)
Base color :  Sinful Colors – Secret Admirer #933
Here I am wearing OPI - Save Me & Orly - Be Brave over it. (one coat of each)
Completely off topic but I must tell you I am writing this post in the car as my dear boyfriend is driving us back from MN to KC and he is so silly, he just turned on the Spanish music station (mind you he is from MN and does not speak Spanish). I think he is just trying to get my attention but any who, back to this post.

I love how this combo turned out, I am still kinda new to all the different glitter kinds out there and what not, and have read that some people do not like bar glitter as it can be rebellious and refuse to lay flat. Both of the ones I used were perfect and easy to work with. I was hesitant to use Sinful Colors as the base color as I really wanted my nails to last for a while, I don’t know about you but I don’t feel like re-doing my nails while I’m on vacation.

Natural light
One more pic :)
I had this combo on for 2 full weeks, which included luggage pulling at multiple airports and I experienced no chips or peeling whatsoever! Obviously my nails grew and you could see that towards the end of the 2 weeks but I am truly impressed at how long the polishes stayed on.

What do you think? Any other bar glitter polishes you recommend?

Fiorella :)

My 4th of July nails:)

Hello all, so here is my attempt of a blogpost/tutorial or at least my desire to show you what I ended up doing for my 4th of July nails :) Hope you like it, any questions or comments are welcome. Have a happy and safe 4th!

Products I used:
  • Nail Therapy Basecoat (Julep)
  • "Kate" (white- Julep)
  • "January" (red- Julep)
  • "Blue my mind" (OPI)
  • "America" (red+blue+silver glitter - Julep)
  • "Luxe and Lush" (China Glaze)
  • Fast Dry Top Coat (Julep)
  • Tape (regular dollar store brand, nothing fancy)
  • Craft scissors (I used one with small and big waves from Walmart, less than $2)
  • PATIENCE!!!
Here is where I got the scissors + tape idea from: http://birch.ly/MXXvV1 as you can see, you can start from any idea and make it your own :)

I applied 3 coats of Kate
It was my first time doing something like this and I wanted to make sure the tape wouldn't pull off the white, so I did the white and waited about 24 hours to do the rest. Basically I cut the tape and placed it on my nails making sure the parts near the cuticle were secure, I alternated fingers/colors so I would have less of a risk of messing up (that way only every other nail would have tape on at the time).

I found the tape peeled easily enough without lifting any of the white but definitely recommend waiting at least 2-3 minutes before peeling it off so the other color is somewhat dry. I did 2 coats of both the blue and the red on the taped nails. On my pinky I used America (2 coats).

At this point I was just going to put some top coat but I couldn't help myself, I needed some glitter :) -don't judge- so I went with "Luxe and Lush" which is basically glitter flakes and wouldn't overpower the whole thing.

Left hand
Close up
I love polish and wear all kinds of colors changing it about once a week, but this is the first time I actually tried something a little more complex than just putting tons of glitter on or doing colored tips. I am pretty happy with the results, it was time consuming but I enjoyed the adventure and Netflix kept me entertained :)

What do you think? Comments? Questions? Suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by :)

OPI Vintage Minnie Collection

I saw this collection and I had to have it!!! I love OPI mini bottles by the way, why? because they are a cheaper alternative to try more colors and because I have yet to finish a bottle of nail polish EVER!!!

I bought the full size bottle of "Nothin' Mousie 'bout it" which is a pink glitter with pink hearts!!! OMG sooo cute!!! There are PLENTY of hearts in the bottle, a it hard to grab at first but once you get it going it's not hard at all.

The MINIS pack contains:
I'm All Ears (dark pink with shimmer)
If you moust you moust (light pink, think Barbie color)
The Color of Minnie (red)

I wanted to see what "Nothin' Mousie 'bout it" would look like over different colors, on the left I swatched by itself, middle is over white and right is over black (black and white are OPI's minis from their Halloween pack).

I love this collection and can't wait to wear it!!! Do you like it?
